Skin and Liver Function

Skin reflects internal health; the liver plays a central role in detoxification and lipid metabolism.

Skin and Liver Function

People can cover unwanted facial concerns—such as spots—with makeup or powder; however, most people would prefer naturally bright, fresh-looking skin with minimal cosmetics.

Skin often reflects the body’s internal state. If underlying causes—especially liver-related issues—are not addressed, even expensive products and modern treatments such as microdermabrasion may fail to provide lasting results. In fact, the liver is considered key for skin health.

What makes liver function special?

The liver is one of the body’s most important detoxifying organs. The body is exposed to many toxins from air, water, and food. If these toxins are not eliminated, disease can arise. The liver essentially purifies nutrients and separates them from harmful substances.

A healthy liver separates toxic substances from nourishing ones so the body can eliminate them via urine and sweating. When the liver does not function well, skin issues such as acne, comedones, pimples, and macules may appear. Another major liver function is breaking down lipids and converting them into other components. The liver is the largest gland in the body. Its best-known role is acting like a waste collector in a toxin-filled world. The right supplements can not only optimise overall liver function but also support the organ’s own metabolism.
